Has China been trapped by the US ?
At this blog, I like to keep things short and simple. So the blog will answer 3 basic questions that hit the crux of the situation.
Why is China the International villain ?
Because:
1. They have always been an authoritarian, man-eat-man, efficient and deeply capitalistic but pretending to be a communist villain regime . It's Nothing new.
2. Dragon is getting so much spotlight now because Uncle Sam is an insecure bitch and has the EU and Australia by their balls. They know that China is rising and rising fast. Soon they will be in a position to topple US from spot number 1. India has common interests and Russia has no interest to make its move. US wants to do what they can proactively to stop China from getting number 1 spot. That is why this issue is being raised now.
Everything else about security/Huawei/copyright issues/Chinese aggression is true, but the west pretending to get worried about it now all of a sudden, (even though Chinese have been doing shady stuff since 50 years, ) is just plain vanilla BS excuse to stop Chinese progression. Until China was a cheap, ruthless manufacturer servant for Europe and the US, their activities were mostly ignored. Now that it has turned into a competitor, it is being targetted.
Why is China in this situation ?
Chinese govt. are grade A assholes. But not grade-A planners. They didn't foresee that by 2016, they will start making Uncle Sam insecure. They were too busy concentrating too much on being a regional power rather than a world power. Not that this justifies their pathetic tactics to become the regional bully, but they just didn't see the bigger picture .
The Red Dragon should ask itself if those stupid disputed Islands near Japan or the barren disputed lands in India , actually worth the loneliness it is facing now?
It was terribly dumb for China to pick a tiff with all its neighbors. You can change a lot of things but not your neighbors. This is independent of how powerful a country you are. (Hitler may disagree but Xi cant "Hitler" his way into occupying Phillipines or Vietnam or India.) China should have tried to make friendship with India and Japan . Make amends may be, if thats what it took. Now, they are completely surrounded and completely friendless, Uncle Sam just has to give them an excuse to hurt China. India, SKorea and Japan are powerful countries and their sweet all-weather friend Pakistan is not . It's not a matter of perspective. it's the fact.
What can China do now?
They have to take drastic steps and they have to take it fast. They have to send out a message that they are not weak. They are not understanding the grievousness of the situation that US has put them in. China has to understand that they will get hurt no matter what they do. So it is better to hit back with serious consequences and send a message to the US than to sit tight and wait for the storm to pass and hope that not too much damage is done. The response could be a direct mockery of how US is handling the covid situation with cartoons and memes and internet warriors, it could be taking counter steps that hit the west where it hurts. It could hitting their own manufacturing if that means that the west gets more hurt in the process. it has to be fast. it has to be bold and it has to be incisive. For instance, when US got race riots, China could have come up with deeply insulting propaganda video against them and spend a lot of money in circulating them. It could have been asking the US to return all Huewai equipments deployed in the US when US put sanctions on Huawei. Peace is not an option in this dirty game.
